Equipment manufacturers make the compressor, turbine, engine, etc. but they don't make coolers. A cooler vendor works with the equipment manufacturer on the application specs (temperatures, gallons per minute of cooling fluid, etc.) before fabricating the cooler or hiring another vendor to make the cooler. In many cases, there is a separate vendor who will package the equipment with the various accessories before making delivery to the actual end user customer.
If you are visiting our website, you must be interested in cutting this supply chain and getting factory direct prices and service. Here are a few benefits from this approach:
- Cooler upgrades are available. This could be a simple material change, based on our experience with a particular cooler, for an item that wears out too quickly (i.e., tubes, baffles). Or, we can improve performance and reduce maintenance by changing the a cooler from a fixed tube sheet design to a robust, shell and tube design.
- Over the years, our experience has helped customers resolve chronic cooler problems without replacing a cooler. Examples include knowing what anode products work best and which coatings protect metals from erosion when in constant contact with cooling fluids.
- It is common to find an oil cooler being used on a large number of diverse pieces of equipment. We identify and stock the most common, so you can have the best pricing with less down
Cooler Identification
Coolers are identified, in our data base, by their part number. Asking a customer for a part number is often "easier said than done". This is because coolers are considered accessories and usually not included in the equipment parts manual. And, sometimes, the supply chain or a previous vendor could have muddied the waters to conceal the correct part number.
We identify coolers every day and begin with the part number. If we are not given a part number or if the part number isn't in our data base, we move on to examining photos of the cooler. It is rare, but sometimes we will need to confirm a few dimensions after reviewing the photos of a cooler. In this case, we will create a drawing to compare against the cooler. The photos shown here are the most useful, since they show the nameplate and the cooler from different angles, especially showing the heads on each end.
